Hyosung and Hung Yen to launch N850 FishTale in Paris

Seoul-based fibre producer Hyosung has joined with Italian-owned, Vietnamese textile manufacturer Hung Yen Knitting & Dyeing in an exclusive partnership, resulting in new swimwear fabric N850 FishTale, which will debut at Interfilière Paris (July 2-4).
The stretch material contains 80% regen ocean 100% post-consumer nylon from discarded fishing nets, blended with 20% Recycled Content Standard-approved 100% recycled creora regen elastane.
Hyosung said results from an independent, third party-verified life cycle assessment had found production of regen ocean fibres to generate 73% less carbon dioxide emissions, 75.7% lower fossil dependency and a 98.6% reduction in water consumption.
Recycled swimwear fabrics have made up 95% of Hung Yen’s core business since 2017, according to its general director, Claudia Anselmi. “Along with our strategic, long-term partner Hyosung, we are proud to launch N850 FishTale as another steppingstone on our path [towards] durable, sustainable raw materials.”
Hyosung will show a selection of intimate apparel, swimwear and loungewear-appropriate stretch fibres and 100% recycled nylon at polyester yarns and the fair (hall 5.2, booth J71).
