‘Eco’ excised from Rab product descriptions
Outdoor brand Rab has said it will no longer use the term ‘Eco’ to describe any of its products once inventory of current collections sells.
UK-based Rab said that, instead, it would share details about each product’s material make-up with customers to allow them “to make an informed judgement. The information it will share will include how much of the content is recycled and which parts of the garment have fluorocarbon content.
“We haven’t always got it right,” the company said. “We haveve named our gear ‘Eco’ and have marketed sustainability, just like others do. This has to change.”
