VF names former Nike, Inc president to its board

US clothing and footwear group VF Corporation has appointed former Nike, Inc president, Trevor A. Edwards (pictured), to its board of directors.

Mr Edwards will now serve on the board’s talent and compensation, plus governance and corporate responsibility committees, effective October 22.

As president of Nike between 2013 and 2018, he reported directly to then group chief executive, Mark Parker. His remit of responsibility ranged from geographic regions to category business, direct-to-consumer units, product and merchandising divisions, global marketing, sales, and digital technology.

Prior to this, Mr Edwards served in several leadership roles at the business, including vice-president of global brand and category management, chief marketing officer and vice-president of marketing for both the US and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region.

“Having worked in the apparel and footwear industry for decades, I know and respect VF’s well-earned reputation and am a personal fan of its iconic brands and its purpose-driven culture,” he commented. “I look forward to contributing my experience and insights as the company looks to deepen its connections with consumers and adapt to evolving marketplace dynamics.”
