Nike to build Chinese sports research lab in 2024

According to an official post to Chinese social media platform Weibo, US sports brand Nike plans to establish a Nike China Sports Research Laboratory at its Greater China headquarters in Shanghai next year.

Making the announcement during the sixth China International Import Expo, taking place in Shanghai through November 10, the company said the lab will complement its global counterpart in Beaverton, Oregon.

Its focus will be on determining how best to serve the “unique needs and potential opportunities” inherent to the country’s running, basketball and related markets, Nike said.
