Clay-court collection on offer from adidas

Sports brand adidas has released a 15-piece collection of tennis apparel and footwear ahead of the 2024 Roland-Garros tournament, which starts in Paris on May 20.

It said the collection would serve players well throughout the clay-court season.

The clothing in the collection features proprietary Heat.Rdy technology, which adidas says can “maximise airflow, to help keep players comfortable on court”.

Another technical aspect is technology called FreeLift Construction, a panelled fabric structure under the armpits to enable greater freedom of arm movement during play.

A quarter-finalist at Roland-Garros last year, Elina Svitolina (pictured) commented: “Clay is always the most challenging surface to play on. During these high-intensity matches, it’s important to feel supported. The smallest distraction in the wrong moment can make or break a point.”
