Solid quarter from Acushnet

Golf equipment, apparel and footwear group Acushnet has reported revenues of $707.6 million for the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 21.3% year on year.

Chief executive, David Maher, said the continued strength of its Titleist golf ball and golf club business had been the foundation of a “solid first quarter”.

These two categories brought in revenues of $208 million and $203 million respectively, growth of 8.3% and 12.8% compared to the same quarter last year.

However, sales at its FootJoy golf shoe brand were down by 6.3% to $192.4 million.

Mr Maher said the group was launching “a comprehensive line-up of new products” across its Titleist, FootJoy and Kjus brands. He said initial demand around the world for these products was “meeting our high expectations”.
