Japanese industrial group Toray has reported revenues that equate to $15.8 billion for the 12 months to March 31, 2024. In Japanese yen, its revenues fell by 1% year on year.

Fibres and textiles contributed 39.5% of group revenues but revenues for this part of the business decreased by 2.4% year on year. Toray said apparel applications were impacted by deteriorating market conditions in the US and Europe.

In the performance chemicals segment, the contribution was 35.9% of the total, but revenues fell by 2.6% year on year. Toray said its resins business was weak, with demand decline in the Chinese market one of the biggest factors.
