FESI welcomes sports plan approval
The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) has welcomed the formal approval of a new European Union work plan for sport.
Proposals for the plan, which will run from 2024 to 2027, won the approval of the 27 EU member states in May. It sets out future priorities and activities related to sports policy.
FESI participated actively in consultation exercises for the plan and advocated for equal access to sport and physical activity across all segments of society. Secretary general of FESI, Jérôme Pero, said several of its recommendations had won inclusion in the work plan.
He commented: “This is a crucial step towards fostering a more inclusive and environmentally responsible sports sector.”
