Hall of fame honour for OrthoLite founder

29/05/2024

The founder of insole materials developer OrthoLite, Glenn Barrett, has been inducted into the US National Sporting Goods Association hall of fame.

NSGA said it had decided to include Mr Barrett in its hall of fame owing to the impact that OrthoLite’s open-cell foam insole solutions have had on the footwear and sporting goods sectors.

For its part, OrthoLite said Glenn Barrett had “revolutionised the footwear segment of the sporting goods industry from the inside out”.

He founded the company in 1997. Today OrthoLite partners with more than 550 footwear brands.

Commenting on the honour, Mr Barrett said: “I’m incredibly proud of what this says about OrthoLite’s  product and the team behind that product. Together, we created an entirely new category of materials to go inside shoes. We identified a need and provided a solution that’s now universally accepted as a comfort and performance enhancement for all categories of footwear.”
