Scandinavian award for Finnish smart patch

Extending the usage of an item of clothing is the best way to reduce its environmental impact, the juries note, but they furthermore singled out FabPatch’s collaborations with brands to create patches that match the exact colour of an item of apparel or gear. The company which in Finland is known as Vaatelaastari, and is based in Oulu, was recently among 30 pioneering European companies working against biodiversity loss, compiled by Sistra, a Finnish Innovation Fund.
Another Scandinavian Outdoor award winner, announced at Outdoor by ispo this Monday, is footwear brand Icebug which picked up the sustainability award for a new trail running shoe, the Järv RB9X, made from materials having high recycled and biobased content.
