Partnership with Birla shows Circ’s progress towards scalability

28/10/2024

Regenerated fibre specialist Circ has agreed a new long-term partnership with Birla Cellulose.

Under the agreement, Birla Cellulose, the cellulosic fibres business of Indian group Aditya Birla, will source up to 5,000 tonnes of pulp per year from Circ. The agreement will be in place for five years.

Birla will convert the pulp into lyocell staple fibre. It said this would significantly enhance its access to recycled materials and, at the same time provide support to Circ as it scales up its commercial production.

Circ chief executive, Peter Majeranowski, said the agreement demonstrated the Virginia-based company’s “ongoing progress towards scalability”.
