Partners to show ‘breakthrough fabric technology’ at Performance Days

Antimicrobial solutions provider Noble Biomaterials has joined forces chemical-free thermoregulation fabrics specialist Coolcore to develop what the partners have “a breakthrough fabric technology”.

The result, Coolpro, delivers “advanced cooling performance with permanent antimicrobial protection”, the companies explained in the build-up to Performance Days, which takes place in Munich on March 5 and 6. Coolpro will go on show at the event.

They said Coolpro is the first fabric to combine Noble’s new Ionic+ Pro antimicrobial technology with Coolcore Biomimetic Fiber Geometry.

Ionic+ Pro removes odorous bacteria on fabric beyond 100 washings, Noble explained. Its proprietary technology can be spun or extruded into nylon or polyester yarns and blended with other fibres, natural or synthetic. It is permanently embedded into the fabric and will not wash out.

Inspired by natural thermoregulation systems, Coolcore fabrics use a proprietary process that it says optimises fibre shape and structure to deliver sustained cooling performance. Its Biomimetic Fiber Geometry involves careful selection of fibres and fabric construction to accelerate moisture transfer, enhancing evaporative cooling without relying on additives.

“Performance Days offers us the perfect venue to showcase our latest innovation, and we are thrilled to introduce Coolpro as the next extension of performance textiles,” said Noble Biomaterials’ chief marketing officer, Allon Cohne.
