Biotech start-up closes new funding round
Epoch Biodesign has announced that its Series A round of $18.3 million has been oversubscribed. This will allow the London-based biotech start-up to scale its enzymatic recycling technology for nylon 6 and 6.6.

The technology is said to operate at “near-ambient conditions” and to “achieve higher yields for less energy input”.

The company plans to build its first biorecycling facility with the new funds, to which Inditex’s Mundi Ventures participated.

Australian company Samsara Eco has also developed an enzyme-based recycling process for polyamide.
