Upswing for Performance Days
Upwards of 3000 visitors attended the latest Performance Days show in Munich (March 5 & 6), making this edition the most successful of recent times and confirming its key role in the sports and outdoor apparel and footwear industry. A total of 588 exhibitors occupying the entire space of two halls, and 3,367 visitors made the trip to Messe Munchen.

New sections introduced this season included a space dedicated to digital technologies, the Tech Hub, and a special section for wool (pictured).

A Day 0 agenda was also new to this edition of the European functional fabric fair. The novel conference format is designed to foster exchange and discussions. Some 100 people attended.

The four Award winning fabrics were:
- A Hemp Fortex fabric with Macel, a manmade cellulosic fibre (lyocell here) made from hemp waste, which accounts for 70% of its composition.
- A Cordura/wool blend by Takisada-Nagoya, part of Invista’s Combat Wool platform.
- Step-O-Sole by Step Zero, a German company developing a plastic-free alternative to PU and TPU for footwear.
- Liongtex Innovation integrated Outlast’s Matrix Infusion Coating to increase the comfort zone of next-to-skin clothing.
