French tech show opens this week
Vivatech, the French CES, opens tomorrow in Paris, at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, and closes on June 16. The theme of this edition is the ‘New Frontiers of Tech’ and where AI, along with robotics, quantum, blockchain and cloud technologies, will be drawing high attention. 

The line-up of speakers includes Nobel Prize winner Alain Aspect, who will be talking about quantum mechanics. Some of the leading figures of AI are also making the trip to the French capital, including executives from Mistral AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and more. 

Among the various business sections, the retail sector is the focus of many tech start-ups developing services for the store of the future and virtual try-on devices. Amazon, Verizon, Alibaba, Fnac and Axa are some of the companies offering new retail technologies at the show. 

Eco-innovation and health and fitness are two other major sectors that will be featured prominently at Vivatech. 

A total of 3,500 exhibitors will be showing their technologies. Previous editions of the event have attracted up to 165,000 visitors, along with thousands of start-ups and investors.
