Start-up shoe developer says its footwear can help prevent injuries
A start-up brand from Denmark has said the running shoe it has developed can help prevent foot injuries.
The brand Movv, launched its first shoe, the Nostara, earlier this year. In recent comments, it said it had engineered the shoe to reduce running-related injuries.
It explained that its design was based on “thousands of foot scans and how people actually move”.
Shoes that fit well will help improve energy efficiency, and prevent harm to the knees, hips and back, which often have to over-compensate if the foot fails to land correctly, Movv argued.
The wrong shoes can also over-work some muscles and weaken others.
Features in the Nostara include a mesh upper that will protect the foot and keep it in the correct position during a run.
In addition, the Nostara has a “dynamic arch comfort system” that adapts to the wearer’s foot to improve stability.
