Merino wool sock manufacturer Nester Hosiery has acquired the assets of Fox River Mills, also a sock maker. Nester intends to close existing production operations in Osage, Iowa, and relocate them to its headquarters in Mount Airy, North Carolina. To provide Fox River staff with continued employment and ensure smooth relations with customers, a product development and customer service centre will remain in Iowa. 

This acquisition allows Nester Hosiery to expand its “domestic production capabilities and preserve important industry knowledge and relationships that align with our commitment to US manufacturing,” commented company CEO Kelly Nester. 

Fox River Mills operates a number of brands, including Fox River, Pistil and Anywear Essentials, which will continue under the new ownership. It is also a supplier of socks for the US military. Nester Hosiery’s main brand is Farm to Feet.
