Fresh offering at Unifi
US-based fibre producer Unifi is introducing a new biobased anti-odour solution to its performance fibre offering. As its name suggests, A.M.Y. Peppermint is derived from peppermint oil and offers durable odour control said to last 50 home launderings. The textile additive can be integrated into the company’s Repreve recycled polyester yarns.

In other news, the company based in Greensboro said that it can now offer its Repreve Takeback and Thermaloop insulation in versions that are entirely made from recycled textile waste. Up till now, the recycled content of these references was usually composed of a combination of PET plastic flakes and polyester textiles. The Repreve Tackback yarns are available in white filament and staple fibre as well as in solution-dyed colours.

Thermaloop insulation, previously made from 50% recycled fibres, is now available with 100% recycled content and in two formats: down-like fibre and fiberball or padding.

These new products will be showcased at the Northwest Materials Show in Portland, Oregon, August 27-28 and at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics from September 2 to 4.
