H&M aims to turn heads with ski collection
The sportswear division of retailer H&M is continuing its ski ranges in collaboration with US-based Grand Studio, a design consultancy specialising in sports and street culture.
The first drop of collection four is a a workwear-inspired ski set: a quilted jacket with a sculptural collar, bold ski suits, embellished goggles and furry ski boot-compatible leg warmers.
Drop two includes a metallic-studded ski jacket and jackets and pants with Recco reflectors, in case of an avalanche. The technology is a two-part system, featuring a detector, carried by the rescuer, and the reflector.
The fabrics include windproof, waterproof and breathable StormMove and the heat-retaining ThermoMove.
Marie Fredros, head of design at H&M Move, said: “This ski season we set out to create pieces that truly perform while turning heads: bold silhouettes, functional details and premium materials designed for the mountain and the après.”
