Raw cotton production forecast lower in October report

04/11/2025

Cotton information resource Cotlook has reduced its forecast of global raw cotton production in 2025-2026 by 147,000 tonnes.

Its monthly report for October gives lower figures than previously forecast for Brazil and the US. It said this was only partially offset by increases for Pakistan and African countries.

Its consumption forecast for the campaign was raised by 38,000 tonnes, mostly as a result of increases for Pakistan and Vietnam.

Cotlook is now projecting that production will exceed consumption in 2025-2026 by 338,000 tonnes, which is lower than earlier projections.
