Fashion for Good to help Spinnova build a consortium

17/12/2025

Fashion for Good is working with Spinnova to help build a consortium to scale the wood-based fibre.

Pedro Brito, senior commercial manager at Spinnova, described the support as “invaluable”.

He said: “With a global network and deep expertise in fostering collaboration across the fashion industry, Fashion for Good will play a key role in assembling and managing this unique ecosystem, one we are truly excited about.”

“The consortium model Spinnova is building represents exactly the kind of coordinated ecosystem approach that next-generation materials need to scale. This isn't just about proving technology works, but about building the infrastructure and capability across the value chain that makes adoption viable,” added Katrin Ley, managing director at Fashion for Good.

Based in Finland, Spinnova has developed a technology for making textile fibre out of wood pulp or waste, such as leather, textile, or agricultural cropping waste, without harmful chemicals.
