Viscose fibre manufacturer Birla Cellulose has signed a cooperation agreement with waste-to-fibre developer Circulose.

Under the agreement, Circulose will supply pulp from textile waste. Birla Cellulose will use the pulp to produce fibres for textile production.

Head of business at Birla Cellulose, Vadiraj Kulkarni, said: “Our partnership with Circulose marks a significant step forward in advancing sustainable and responsible sourcing. Through this collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainability-conscious fibre solutions that contribute to a circular future.”

For his part, the chief executive of Circulose, Jonatan Janmark, said the Stockholm-based company has refined its approach in the course of 2025. He said it wanted to “put brands at the centre” and create “offerings that enable mainstream adoption”.

He said that achieving this requires close collaboration with “key partners across the value chain”. For this reason, he said this new partnership with Birla Cellulose would be “a cornerstone of our strategy”.
