Activewear supplier teams up with US Cotton Trust Protocol
Next Level Apparel, a supplier of “blank” activewear, has joined the US Cotton Trust Protocol, which provides indicators such as soil health, water use, nutrient management and greenhouse gas emissions.
Gary Adams, president of the US Cotton Trust Protocol, said: “This membership will equip Next Level Apparel with the data-driven insights needed to help meet the increasing global demand for sustainably produced cotton in high-performance apparel.”
Next Level Apparel sources t-shirts and hoodies from 20 factories, and also partners Oritain, TrusTrace and the Fair Labor Association.
In November, the Protocol announced its more 1,500 grower members had met or exceeded five of the six 2025 National Goals for Continuous Improvement. Achievements against a 2015 baseline included a 15% reduction in land use needed to grow one pound of cotton and an 87% improvement in water use efficiency.
Brand members include PVH, Urban Outfitters, Ralph Lauren and Target.
