Renewed focus on wellness at Target

Minneapolis based retailer Target is rolling out an expanded wellness offering this year, announcing a 30% increase in this broad product category. The company is tapping the trend for protein-rich foods, health supplements and cosmetics, but ‘performance-ready apparel’ is also in the mix. It is introducing 1,000 new references in clothing and accessories across its All in Motion and Glow Studio collections, and a special Valentine’s Day drop dedicated to pilates is scheduled.

“About 70% of guests are already shopping wellness at Target. Our goal is to make wellness really accessible – fun, easy, affordable and personalised – so consumers can focus on building routines that help them look and feel their best,” commented Lisa Roath, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of food, essentials and beauty.
