Ribbon maker Satab reorganises collections
In a move designed to clarify its diverse product offering, French narrow textiles maker Satab Group has reorganised its ranges into three families. Maison Satab covers all products targeting creative, fashion and luxury textiles applications. Novalti is the name of the division that makes technical and industrial textiles, and Eweave is its department producing smart and connected textiles.
Satab pioneered a new way of integrating electronic components into apparel, accessories and any textile product with its Eweave smart ribbons. “Eweave has opened new solutions in many fields, including health and wellbeing, outdoor, defence and security as well as mobility and aviation,” Satab Group spokesperson Celine Gardette told Sportstextiles.
Combining electronics and mechanical elements, Eweave products can provide connectivity, lighting, sensing as well as switch functions.
The family-owned company is based in Saint-Just-Malmont, in the Upper Loire region, the historical ribbon-making region of France and was founded in 1905. Its production capacity is 10 million metres of product per week across some 40,000 different references.
