Abus introduces textile bike lock
German bike lock specialist Abus is introducing Yarnit, a new bike lock designed for urban cyclists with an innovative textile sheath and make. Made from a three-layer lock construction, it has a hardened steel core, a hybrid middle layer combining textile fibres with a steel cable, and an outer shell made from multicoloured braided fibres. This construction creates a lighter lock compared to conventional metal ones while offering a level of protection 7, corresponding to medium risk. The textile outer surface protects the bike frame from scratches, prevents annoying rattling during transport and gives the lock a distinctive look, the company said.
The new Yarnit lock is available in three lengths: 85 cm, 110 cm and 140 cm. The 110 cm version comes in four colour harmonies: black, denim blue, sandstone and midnight.
