Chinese textile exports rise 20% in 2005

Following the end of trade quotas as of January 2005, China’s textile industry has seen a large increase in the volume of textiles exported.

According to estimates from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, exports increased 20% year-on-year to reach $116 billion in 2005.

The largest increases were seen in the number of exports to the USA and Europe, with exports rising 62.7% in the first 10 months alone.
