Synthetic microfibre thermal insulation brand PrimaLoft is launching a new insulation technology, PrimaLoft Infinity.
The Infinity product is a fine denier continuous filament insulation, designed to give sleeping bags greater loft and shelf appeal. It will be introduced at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, January 22-25, 2009 in Salt Lake City, and ispo Winter Market 09, February 1-4 in Munich.
“While PrimaLoft Sport has been successfully used in warm-weather sleeping bags, there was a need for a high loft performance product,” says Eileen Berner, the brand’s sales director. “After years of effort, the research and development team engineered Infinity to fill this market opportunity. Preliminary testing shows that PrimaLoft Infinity has a greater warmth to weight ratio and is more compressible than what is available in the market. It also has a more consistent fibre construction to eliminate cold spots.”
For Spring 2009, Eastern Mountain Sports will introduce PrimaLoft Infinity into its Boreal Series line of sleeping bags.
