coldblack at the Davis Cup final

Schoeller’s new sun-protection textile finish, coldblack, shared the court at the final of this year’s Davis Cup between hosts, Argentina, and eventual winners, Spain, at Mar del Plata at the end of November.
Hugo Boss incorporated coldblack in the uniforms it put together for the team of line-judges. “Like the players themselves, line-judges often stand around in the sun for hours. With this new finish, we can use the colour black with no difficulties and at the same time integrate good sun protection,“ said Till Pohlmann, head of sports sponsorship at Hugo Boss.
The new technology causes an invisible colour change that reflects heat rays instead of absorbing them, as dark textiles normally do. With coldblack, efficient heat management and a high level of protection from ultraviolet rays are achieved right across the colour spectrum.
