New agents for Berghaus

Outdoor brand Berghaus has announced new arrangements for the distribution of its products in Ireland. Xtrem Agencies, run by Tony Broderick, will become its new sales agent from the start of 2009.

After working together for seven years, Berghaus and Maguire Distribution have decided not to renew their distribution agreement. Tony Broderick, who has been handling Berghaus in the Irish market, has left the Maguire after 24 years, to form Xtrem Agencies.

The brand says it will supply customers directly from its UK distribution centre, benefiting the Irish market by allowing for quicker replenishment, giving access to UK stock and global marketing support. In addition to this, Xtrem Agencies has opened a new showroom in Dublin.

Simon Roberts, Berghaus sales director for Europe, said on announcing the development: “I would like to thank Ray Maguire and all at Maguire Distribution for their contribution to the success of Berghaus. The brand is well positioned in the market and has enjoyed strong growth. So, we are delighted that Tony Broderick will continue his association with us at Xtrem Agencies and look forward to working with him to build profile and sales across Ireland.”

For his part, Tony Broderick added: “It has been a privilege to be part of Maguire Distribution’s success over the last 24 years and I wish Ray and the team all the best for the future. I have focused on Berghaus in recent years and am very excited about the opportunity to build on that relationship at Xtrem Agencies. Berghaus is one of the premier outdoor brands in Europe and together we have an opportunity to deliver even more success across Ireland over the next few years.”
