Nike revenues rise

Nike has posted a 6% revenue increase for its second quarter, ended November 30. Revenues for the period were $4.6 billion compared with $4.3 billion for the same period last year.

Second quarter net income increased 9% to $391 million, compared with $359.4 million in the prior-year period.

President and CEO, Mark Parker, said: "I see the current state of our industry and the world as an incredible opportunity for Nike to be a better and stronger leader, and we're going to seize that opportunity."

Footwear revenues grew across all regions. US footwear revenues increased 1% to $993.5 million, European footwear revenues rose 6% to $688.3 million, Asia-Pacific footwear revenues were up 20% to $400.1 million and footwear revenues in the Americas were up 23% to $264.1 million.
