Conference programme announced

The final programme for IntertechPira’s Smart Fabrics conference, which will take place in Rome in March, has been released.
Speakers will cover a choice of topics including home health care market developments, smart textiles’ penetration into mass consumer markets, and analysis of Argentina’s smart textiles market.
The second stream will be chaired by Martijn Krans from Philips and will focus on visionary applications. Delegates will have a chance to hear the latest findings from the most innovative research groups at various universities around the globe as well as find out more about fibre optic fabrics from Luminex, intelligent life sign monitoring from CSEM SA and technical applications from TITV Greiz.
Danilo de Rosi will be chairing the Technology and Innovation session featuring presentations from Clothing+, CeNTI, Smartex, Solarmer Energy, EENYX and other most influential players in this field. The third stream will explore the application of plastic solar cells to smart fabrics, electronic polymer devices and discuss different sensing technologies for smart fabrics.
The two-day conference will be preceded by a half-day workshop lead by Maksim Skorobogatiy from the University of Montreal and Kathy Schicker from Central Saint Martins College, London. The workshop leaders will present findings of the collaboration between these two institutions on photonics textiles.
The event takes place on March 10-12 at the Holiday Inn Rome West in the Italian capital.
