Integrated testing services at Hohenstein
The Hohenstein Institute’s Material Testing Department was amalgamated into the Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute GmbH & Co. KG on December 1 and its services are now in operation.
The services that have been integrated include all laboratory tests for classic materials testing, the testing and certification of textiles in accordance with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and testing of personal protective equipment and feathers and down. Another service offered is the inspection and auditing of production sites in all the major textile manufacturing countries. These audits are commissioned mainly by importers in Europe and the US.
The business manager of the new company will be Lutz Seifert, while Dr Siegfried Glander will continue to be responsible for technical direction. According to Hohenstein Institute director, Dr Stefan Mecheels, the aim of the restructuring is the formation of operatively and independently acting company divisions for services that belong together.
