Salomon Nordic signs up US cross-country skier

Sports clothing and equipment brand Salomon has announced that US cross-country skier Sophie Caldwell has joined its team of athletes.

Ms Caldwell, who has two victories on the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup circuit, will compete in Salomon S/Lab skis and boots for the 2018-2020 seasons.

In an article posted on Salomon’s website, she explained why she had chosen to join the brand. Among the reasons she mentioned was the way in which Salomon communicates with its athletes.

“I think having a close and active relationship with a brand can strengthen the numbers and ideas to really help boost the process of learning about what is working, what isn't, and how to make things better on both ends,” she added.

Ms Caldwell described Salomon’s products as “top of the line” and said she is excited by the softness of the classic boot and the stability of the skate ski she will wear. She also explained that she was “pleasantly surprised” by how quickly she got used to using the Salomon equipment.
