Winter sports and football to feature prominently at ISPO China

Final preparations are under way for ISPO Beijing 2019, which will take place in China’s capital city from January 16-19.

Organisers have said they expect 400 exhibitors representing 700 brands to take part in the event, which will take place at the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC).

One of this year’s highlights is a new partnership with Germany’s top professional football league, the Bundesliga. A number of leading clubs will be represented at the fair and will take part in a variety of discussions and forums. Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Schalke 04, VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg will all be represented.

Around 50% of the brands at ISPO Beijing are from outside China, with Fjällräven, Marmot, Rossignol and Scarpa among the regular attenders. European exhibitors that are newer to Asia include Active Sportswear from Denmark, Walltopia from Bulgaria, Doppelpass and Aesthetic Sports from Germany, Sled Dogs from Hungary and Rebellboost from Finland.

A special two-day seminar for all brands interested in entering the Chinese market will be on offer to exhibitors. The focus in 2019 will be on winter sports to reflect the Winter Olympics that will be held in Beijing in 2022. Companies attending the seminars will gain exclusive insights into the Chinese sports industry and its potential, organisers said in the build-up to the exhibition.
