More than 500 VF employees across Europe have taken part in ‘Purpose Days’, volunteering to support their local communities.
Each country created its own programme based on community needs and employees’ preferences. In the UK, 80 of VF’s Nottingham-based employees helped at Long Eaton Community Garden, Arkwright Community Garden, Windmill Community Garden, Summerwood Community Garden and Flo Skatepark, which is operated by Flo Charitable Trust.
Anna Maria Rugarli, senior director of sustainability for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Since 2014, our European employees have spent more than 20,000 hours in volunteering services. We are proud to be able to renew our support to the associations that operate in the area we live and work in.
“This year, for the first time, the European initiatives simultaneously take place in Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Russia, France, and Turkey. Spain will follow.”
VF group includes Timberland, the North Face, Vans and Icebreaker.
