Andreas Weber has been unanimously voted global president of The Textile Institute by the organisation members. The vote took place at an annual general meeting on May 10, which marked the institute’s 100^th birthday.

Mr Weber is senior vice president sales, marketing and parts, and a member of the board at SwissTex Winterthur AG. Following the announcement, he said: “I am extremely pleased to have received the trust of the council and members of The Textile Institute on being elected the 54th world president and being the third Swiss coming in to this role.”
