Beverley Williams has taken the helm at JJB Sports following the resignation of its chief executive on August 3. She was formerly commercial director and co-chief executive at lingerie brand La Senza.

Ms Williams will take over the company, which was on the brink of collapse until US retailer Dicks Sporting Goods invested £20 million in the firm back in April, in addition to the £10 million provided by existing shareholders.
