Egypt declares cotton import ban

Egypt’s agriculture ministry has placed a ban on imports of cotton to protect the domestic industry. Any cotton shipped to Egypt after July 4 will not be allowed to enter the country. Spinners and weavers in Egypt have raised concerns about being able to source enough raw material locally.
