Global cotton production expected to rise

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) says world production of cotton is expected to increase 7% to 22.6 million tonnes in 2016/2017. The rise comes despite its predictions that cotton producing area will fall 1% to 30 million hectares, the smallest area since 2009/10. Average yield is projected to improve by 9% to 753 kg/hectare....
