Evonik develops polyimide fibre with larger surface area

Evonik, producers of specialty fibres, has developed new polyimide fibres said to have improved mechanical stability and flexibility at continuously high operating temperatures. Named P84 HT, the fibres have multilobal cross-section and a distinctly large surface area, allowing for better filtration efficiency.
