Textile research and testing organisation Hohenstein has received accreditation from the German federal government to assess textiles for Germany’s Grüner Knopf (Green Button) label.

Green Button certification is awarded to companies that achieve a high level of environmental and social responsibility; they are then entitled to put Green Button labels on qualifying products. The government has said it hopes in time to make the certification available globally.
