Fibre producer Hyosung has begun commercial production of its 50,000-ton-per-year Bio-BDO plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which will enable it to reduce the carbon footprint of its elastane.

Backed by a total investment of $1 billion, the project is equipped with the infrastructure to expand its production capacity up to 200,000 tons annually in line with market growth.
