Phobol CP-DP and Phobol CP-DL fluoropolymers in the finish have a stain repelling agent that acts as an invisible barrier so liquid spills bead up and roll off the fabric. It also has a release technology that prevents fibres from holding stains and soils so they wash away easily.
The new range is based on DuPont Capstone short-chain chemistry which meets the goals of the US Environmental Protection Agency 2010/15 Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) Stewardship Program. They are compliant with the EU Directive 2006/122 for Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of PFOS. Additionally, the product range is compliant with environmental standard OEKO-TEX 100, meets the requirements of various brand/retail Restricted Substance Lists and meets the commitments of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) joint roadmap.
“These products are additions to our extensive range of short-chain fluorochemicals which help our customers meet the commitments of the ZDHC joint roadmap,” said Steve Gray, global vice-president of marketing and planning of Huntsman Textile Effects. “The alliance continues to drive the transition and deliver technological advancements that have a lower environmental footprint.”
Fabrics treated with PHOBOL CP can qualify for the Teflon fabric protector hangtag.
