Sympatex to unveil high-performance shoe lining

Sympatex Technologies is to present its new Moisture-tech 360° for the first time at the OutDoor Trade Fair 2013 (July 11 to 14) in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

An insole can be combined with the Moisture-tech 360° lining laminates to offer a solution for comfortable, dry feet.

The sole removes moisture from the foot or the sock and stores it in an interlining. The natural rolling movement of the foot creates a ventilation or pumping effect in the channel structure of the insole, which transports the moisture in the form of water vapour to the upper that is equipped with the new lining laminates.

Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, confirmed the improved moisture removal. Protective work boots were tested in static and moving conditions. The evaporated water in the boot with the Moisture-tech 360° insole was 42% higher than in the Moisture-tech laminate with a normal insole. The perspiration in the sock was reduced by another 31% using Moisture-tech 360 compared with the Moisture-tech laminate and a standard insole.

Sympatex has been manufacturing high-tech functional materials for clothing, footwear, accessories and technical fields since 1986. It develops, produces and distributes membranes, laminates and functional textiles as well as finished products.
