Coolcore receives inaugural Hohenstein cooling certificate

27/08/2013
The temperature-regulating fibres made by Coolcore, a US-based company, have become the first to be awarded the Hohenstein Quality Label ‘Innovative Technology - Cooling Power’.

Scientists at the testing facility in Germany have confirmed the cooling effect of the textiles, which are chemical-free and use sweat, or added moisture, to achieve cooling.

The effects were evaluated using the WATson Heat Loss Tester measurement device developed at the institute. The heat dissipated from the skin under conditions ranging from tropical to cool, as well as heat loss caused by high wind speeds, can be quantified using the device.
