Thermore launches ‘advanced’ down alternative

06/05/2014
Insulation manufacturer Thermore has launched EVOdown, a product that it describes as its most advanced to date and a “completely different concept”.

Blown-in synthetic fibres and fibre balls deliver a high-loft down-like appearance, but the Italian company says they often come with stability limitations, clumping issues, fibre migration and the development of cold spots.

It describes EVOdown as a "rolled free fibre composite": two external higher density layers encapsulate the free fibres in the middle, which it says ensures a consistent, high thermal performance throughout the entire garment, and which is available in three weights.
