Under Armour presses further into digital fitness

Under Armour has opened its first digital headquarters, Connected Fitness, in Texas, housing more than 100 engineers, scientists and designers and designers and which is expected to grow “substantially” by the end of the year.

The US company in February bought fitness apps Endomondo and MyFitnessPal, and now says it owns the “world’s largest community” of 120 million members through UA Record and MapMyFitness.

 “In the last six months we more than doubled the size of our Connected Fitness team. Our brand’s trajectory in the digital space is unprecedented, and we’re building the most equipped and talented team to deliver products that will change lives everywhere through health and fitness technology,” said Robin Thurston, Under Armour’s chief digital officer.

“The talent we have secured is monumental, and our team is poised to advance the entire landscape of the technology industry.”
