Vietnamese workers at facilities run by footwear manufacturer Yue Yuen are negotiating with bosses as a strikes enters a sixth day, according to global media reports.

‘Tens of thousands’ of workers at the Ho Chi Minh City factory are protesting a new law they say will reduce their retirement options.

Yue Yuen, which makes shoes for brands including Nike, Adidas and Puma, was dogged by strikes in Chinese facilities last year and encountered more unrest in China last month.

Taiwan-headquartered parent company Pou Chen said the strikes had not affected production.
