BioAmber will supply Bayer MaterialScience with bio-succinic acid used for a range of bio-based polyurethanes for textile applications.

IMPRANIL eco is made from up to 65% renewable content, enabling manufacturers to produce synthetic materials and coated fabrics with a high content of renewable materials in every layer.

Nicholas Smith, head of textile coating at Bayer, said: "Sustainability is becoming a purchasing decision criterion for consumers and is high on the agenda for the textiles industry. IMPRANIL eco improves the ecological footprint for manufacturers, OEMs and brands.”

In 2014 BioAmber was selected as one of the top 10 green chemistry innovators by LAUNCH, an organization established by Nike, NASA, the US Department of State and the US Agency for International Development.
